An acceptable use policy is an outline, in writing, of how a school expects their members to behave on technology.
Attached is a link to the AUP for the 1:1 iPad Project at Alliance High School.
The agreement outlines things from the student responsibilities to the parent responsibilities. In the beginning of the agreement it states what condition the iPad should stay in. This includes keeping the identification labels on the iPad but, not replacing them on their own if the label comes off. Students are also required to keep the iPad from getting a virus when in their possession.
I believe that it is unique and different that the agreement outlines responsibilities for the parents to follow as well as the children. Parents are outlined to not try to repair the iPad if something were to happen to it. Just as well as monitoring student activities on the iPad and the use of their student email. Giving the parents an outline on how to help their students use the iPads will help the students be successful with technology inside and outside of school.
